If I had my way I would spend all of my time at farmers' markets. The markets in Cape Town are particularly amazing; the food, the people, and the produce are all exquisite.
Like I mentioned in my last post, two weeks ago we went to the The Neighbourgoods Market and it was amazing, but this weekend we thought we should try something new. We ended up at the Oranjezicht market down by the waterfront. According to our editor the CT waterfront is the most popular tourist attraction in all of Africa, so we figured we had a duty (as semi-tourists) to go investigate.
The market did not disappoint. The produce was so inexpensive; I got an avocado, an apple, two onions, two bananas, a yam, and a giant bunch of Swiss chard, all for less than $7.
They also have amazing food, like that falafel bowl, and things like avo toast, kombucha, juices, crepes, waffles, bagel/egg sandwiches, and tons more. If you are ever in the area you must stop by!
